Plain Toe Pioneer Reindeer
Horween’s Pioneer Reindeer is their recreation of the famous “Russian Reindeer” leather, discovered in the 18th-century Metta Catharina shipwreck. The leather shares many characteristics with Horween’s Chromexcel: aniline-dyed, heavy pull-up, and combination-tanned. It is distinguished by a heavy embossment, creating a strictly defined, diamond-shaped hatch grain pattern. The Plain Toe Blucher embodies the perfect smart-casual footwear. Bluchers feature an open-lacing system with a single-piece, one-cut vamp. These two features separate bluchers from Oxfords, with their closed-lacing system, and Derbies, which have quarter-panels connected to the vamp. These differences produce a sleek and stylish pair of Goodyear-welted shoes that are easily wearable at work or a night out.
