- This is our take on selvedge denim – we give it a light wash for a soft handle and a broken-in feel.

- Selvedge denim is made with shuttle looms moving at a slower pace and putting less tension on the yarn, which adds character to the denim.
- As a sign of the quality the Selvedge or edge of the fabric is left visible.
- It's crafted for us at the Kuroki mill in the city of Ibara, Okayama.
- Since 1965 the factory has specialised in rope-dyeing denim, a time-intensive process that gives a rich indigo.
- River water used by the mill to soften the fabric is treated and recycled for use in the rice paddies of Okayama.
