Kincaid No. 4 Jacket in Seamoss Hopsack
This hopsack is woven in Italy with pale blue yarns in the warp and dark green yarns in the weft, which come together to create a nicely dimensional play of light and dark. How could we call it anything but "Seamoss?" The cloth is wool-rich, with a small dose of linen and an even smaller dose of stretch in the mix — something we don't often do on the tailored side — for comfort and shape retention. A very, very elegant warm-weather jacket. This is our No. 4 make — almost fully handmade — which means more time passing through our Neapolitan tailors' hands. In fact, each piece requires a full ten hours’ worth of tailoring before it leaves the workshop. The shoulder, lining, darts, buttonholes, buttons, and several other elements are sewn by hand, and you can feel it when you put it on. It’s almost like the seams move with you. We built the Kincaid model with a soft (read: natural) shoulder, a 2-button front, and a shorter, darted body with some tracing to it, for a fit that's slimmish but never skinny. And while we always go for an American-Italian blend, the cut of this one leans a bit more sartoria than the rest. But just like all of our jackets, it's designed to take you from Mississippi to Milan, and back again, without looking out of place.
