J043 Army Chore Jacket Moleskin

Description The iconic J043 is now made in a 400gsm Brushed Moleskin, intended for us in cold to mild weather. The Moleskin fabric is extremely soft and comfortable, and at the same time offers extreme durability. Based on a vintage original 1943 U.S. Navy Type N-3 Jacket from our archive, the J043 is the type of jacket you'll have for life. We've taken the original collar shape and emphasized it's subtle curved point, as well as redesigning the front panels so they naturally roll out like a tailored jacket lapel. The J043 is cut unlined and slightly oversized with an extended shoulder-line to reflect it's military roots. The three exterior pockets are the same size and shape of the original 1943 version, which happens to be the same "wine glass" shape used in Neapolitan tailoring. For the hardware we've chosen Japanese-made metal buttons due to their clean look and long-lasting nature. As for the fabric, we've selected a heavy 400gsm British Moleskin with a brushed surface. It's perfect for the cooler months (5C - 25C) and true to the Informale approach will break in beautifully and develop character and patina over time.
