Earlier this year Mr Porter asked us to create an exclusive The boot takes inspiration from vintage Alpine ski boots from the 1920s and 30s but with a focus on luxury. The boots are hand made in our Northamptonshire factory using the unique Veldtschoen construction, which can only be made in a few factories worldwide. Attention was given to the materials used which consist of a large single piece vamp, deep crossover lacing and a padded bellows tongue. Herbie also has a padded collar around the ankle and v shaped seaming on the side. There is no welt but instead the upper is flanged outwards and stitched directly to a thick leather through and to the rubber commando sole. This naturally deflects water away from the upper giving you a high performing walking shoe.
