The Alexander last does just that, using the instep to hold the foot in place while offering sufficient room at the toe. This Italian Baby Calf is a vegetable-tanned leather with a higher sheen. It is very transparent, which allows profound highs and lows. It also means that any natural traits, such as growth marks, are visible. These should not be considered defects but merely the article's natural base. The raw character and high-shine finish are the beauty of this particular vegetable tannage.
