The double-layer back and outer sleeves plus the front cape provides two layers of weather-resistant waxed cotton over the most exposed areas. The duck canvas is made with a tight weave that makes it a virtually impenetrable barrier to briars and thorns while withstanding the abuse of constant abrasion.
