This meticulous method, undertaken by one of the last traditional silk mills in England, involves hand screen printing while utilising environmentally friendly techniques. The silk has a distinctly different handle from other silk - treated with gum arabic, it acquires a butter-like texture, known as "chalk hand", and is reminiscent of fine suede, with a uniquely "dusty" finish."
