One Ear Brand - Hin Rose Bandana

This design was inspired by bandannas from the early 1910s to the late 1920s. During this period, patterns shifted noticeably from the ornate plains bandannas toward influences that moved from Eurocentric to Americana. The centre motif is simple, but the 3 to 1 change in black and white gives it character. Instead of traditional bandanna motifs along the border, this piece features tattoo-style roses. The strong lines and dotted gradations bring a subtle and playful detail to the design. It is an interesting balance of old and new ideas, blending early bandanna structure with a fresh perspective.
