DESCRIPTION
- This chore coat is our newest design, developed in direct response to the beautiful antique fabric that reminded Tony of sailcloth at first sight.
- The heavy French linen circa 1890 has been laundered, hung to dry and pressed countless times, creating a rare patina.
- The weight of this fabric creates a strong straight drape with a soft texture that is much more wrinkle resistant than modern linen.
- The dye has settled into a subtle sunshine-through-rippled-water pattern.
- The most distinctive design feature is the double faced pockets that wrap across the side panel.
- One of these pockets has a smaller stacked pocket underneath, and there is a single upper chest pocket.
- The swooping shape of all the pockets reminds us of old ships.
- Handmade by Tony at our studio in Maine.
