DESCRIPTION
- These jeans are made of 13.75oz Italian selvedge denim with just a touch of stretch.
- This kind of denim is woven on a more traditional shuttle loom to create a self-edged cloth (hence the name) and the slower weaving process creates a fabric with a more personal, relaxed hand.
- Which is exactly what it does on the body.
- If you're new to selvedge, don't be put off by the initial stiffness — it'll soften up and fade over time, leaving you with a pair of jeans that molds organically to your wear patterns.
- And especially if you can hold off on washing them for awhile, they'll wear in and become as unique to you as your fingerprints.
- The fit is our Clift silhouette: an easier-fitting five-pocket jean named for Montgomery Clift, one of the first to popularize denim for the everyman.
- Just like our Slim Straights, the shape riffs on two longtime favorite jeans — think slightly more tapered Levi's 501®s and a slightly higher-rise APC New Standards — but this time with extra room all around for guys with a bit more natural ballast.
