• Chore jackets originated in 19th-century France as garments to wear while knocking out day-to-day work (hence the name).
• We haven’t strayed too far from the original — simple shape, clean patch pockets at the front, an easy fit through the body — but we've taken it up a notch with horn buttons and elevated fabric.
• This one in particular is made up in a rugged, quintessentially fall-feeling 8-wale corduroy from Italy.
• Once known as “poor man's velvet“ due to its popularity during the Industrial Revolution, corduroy is one of our very favorite fabrics for this time of year.
• The wider, chunkier wale gives a softer hand and a touch more luster to the surface, so it'll transition perfectly into cooler months.
