DESCRIPTION
  • Most early flight jackets made were meant to keep pilots warm in unheated cabins.
  • We added the 184SM to the line in 1977 to provide style to the civilian market based on the originals, but with added function and comfort.

  • About this leather: Our naked cowhide leather is a premium top grain cowhide that combines comfort and durability.
  • The leather boasts a naturally tight open pore structure that ensures a softer touch and superior comfort.
  • Its weight and warmth are on par with deluxe heavy steerhide.
  • The full aniline, drum dyed process preserves the leather’s texture, enhancing its natural grain with a subtle, semi-matte finish.
  • It is then vacuum dried (instead of toggle dried) that leads to a slightly stiffer result as the fibers are not stretched and softened.
  • The leather is designed to age gracefully and expand its characteristics over time.
