STORY
The inspiration for the Mister Freedom® Tahiti Shirt involves family heirlooms, 1950’s local-made tourist attire, Polynesian-style prints and a nod to the famous M*A*S*H* war comedy.
Don't cheat yourself for the extended story and imagery on the blog.
The base textile of our Tahiti shirt is reminiscent, in texture, of those vintage kitschy 1960’s/70’s cotton Hawaiian shirts sometimes referred to as ‘bark cloth’.
Vintage iterations of this fabric were modern renditions of the ancient Hawaiian kapa, the natural wood pulp bark cloth of early traditional Polynesian attire.
Our Tahiti Shirt comes in two color options, coined by the MF® Linguistic Dept as Ura (meaning red and Moana (meaning the mighty Ocean ie. the Big Blue).
