DESCRIPTION
- Our western-style pocketed CPO shirt, cut from a characterful 13.5oz dobby loom-woven cloth.
- Dobby weaving is a traditional technique dating back to the mid-1800s.
- By attaching a piece of equipment known as a “dobby” to the loom, the yarns can be manipulated during the weave to create a thicker, heavily textured fabric.
- This particular cloth is woven with 100% Mexican cotton — a first for Iron Heart.
- These long fibre yarns produce a thicker cotton, which in turn adds significant heft to the weave.
- So while this dobby cloth weighs in at 13.5oz, it could easily be mistaken for something much heavier!
- Since the yarns are indigo-dyed, and the fabric’s rugged surface exposes more edges than a twill or plain weave, you can expect beautiful high-contrast fading to emphasise the intricate geometric texture.
- Heavyweight yet breathable, this model is an ideal shirt/jacket hybrid for the warmer months — finished with heavy-duty black snap fastenings, tonal stitching, and red internal bobbin thread for a touch of flair.
