  • This slip-on pattern dates back to the early 1800s as a riding boot, which is how it originally earned the 'Paddock boot' name.
  • Only in the mid-1900s, when the boot was popular in England, was it referred to as a Chelsea, a district in southwest London.
  • This pattern carries over to multiple categories.
  • It's easily dressed up or down, and in certain parts of the world, it's a preferred style for work boots, given the closed pattern and slip-on practicality.
