- The Grove Desert Shoe is a four-eyelet design with derby lace-up construction and a natural crepe which is extremely hardwearing and also lightweight and very comfortable.
- The upper is made from English tanned kudu suede from the world famous Charles F Stead tannery in Leeds, UK.
- Janus calf suede displays an unrivalled soft, premium nap whilst still retaining high levels of durability.
- Internally, the shoe is unlined as the suede upper is moss backed which increases wearer comfort.
- The footbed is traditionally half-lined with natural leather and a soft, cushioned heel pad.
- The Grove Desert Shoe goes through several complex and skilled processes before completion and none more important than the stitchdown welting stage.
- This process uses a Number 10 sole stitcher - an integral machine used in making traditional Northampton shoes and boots.
- Furthermore, this provides the bold stitching used to secure the natural crepe sole and the technique also ensures the shoes are strong and flexible.
