This design was created by Satoshi Kaga, drawing on a fascination with fish and their place within the natural ecosystem.
Their forms and movement shape a composition that feels both lively and considered.
Developed over several months, the artwork went through numerous refinements.
The process began with a paper label, before taking cues from a vintage bandanna and later a woven rug, each influence subtly informing the final piece.
There is a quiet nod to 19th-century bandanna design in the overall arrangement, while the fish are rendered with a more contemporary hand.
Small bubble-like details introduce a sense of depth and movement.
The result is a characterful piece that sits comfortably between past and present, revealing more the longer it is worn.
